GLAAD ANNOUNCES FIRST-OF-ITS-KIND SUMMIT

GLAAD's Communities of Color and Media Black Queer Creative Summit will take place in Los Angeles 9/14-17.

The event aims to educate, empower and train emerging Black LGBTQ+ creatives in the following categories: executives, creators, behind-the-scenes, on-screen talent and music supervision. It will provides access to top entertainment figures and opportunities for professional development.

Special guests will include writers, musicians, directors, producers, artists, filmmakers and photographers. Participants will have access to the attendee directory and be able to share their résumés with all participants.

"Shows like StarzP-Valley, ABC’s The Rookie, AMC’s Interview With a Vampire, Peacock’s Bel-Air, Netflix’s The Midnight Club, Amazon’s Harlem and more are centering the intersections of Blackness and queerness, and we’d like to see more," said GLAAD Communities of Color and Media Director DaShawn Usher. "The summit will foster a pipeline for the next generation."
