AEG IS ON FIRE

AEG Presents has had a helluva run in the last month. Jay Marciano's live-event behemoth has grossed more in 30 days than we do in a decade. From Coachella to Stagecoach to Jazz Fest, AEG continues to prove it's one of the hardest-working companies in the world.

Coachella, 4/13-23, was massive. Though Frank Ocean dropped out of the second weekend following a controversial first-weekend show, the annual desert extravaganza at Indio's Empire Polo Club drew vast throngs of dedicated fans (125k+ per day by most reckonings) willing to sweat it out to see Bad Bunny, BLACKPINK, Gorillaz and Calvin Harris. They were also treated to (among countless other worthy sets) a surprise performance by a newly reunited blink-182 and a closing set from Skrillex, Fred Again.. and Four Tet, an EDM dream.

Stagecoach, Coachella's country cousin, offered more sweltering temperatures and smokin'-hot acts as country music aficionados braved the triple-digit heat to catch genre giants such as Luke Bryan, Kane Brown and Chris Stapleton. But true to form, that was only the tip of the cactus; ZZ Top, Jon Pardi, Elle King, Bailey Zimmerman, Diplo and Luke Grimes were among the dozens of other artists thrilling fans.

Combined, the three desert weekends sold nearly one million tickets. The YouTube livestreaming viewership, meanwhile, was 3x the audience drawn by the Grammys and Oscars.

One of the nation’s longest-running festivals, Jazz Fest, held at the Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots in New Orleans 4/28-30 and 5/4-7, drew 400k+ people who braved the weather rain and shine for headlining sets by Dead & Company and Jon Batiste as well as bang-up performances by Lizzo, The Lumineers, Ed Sheeran, H.E.R. and Mumford & Sons.

Of course AEG has a stacked summer schedule as well. Across the pond, the annual BST Hyde Park Festival kicks off in London on 7/24 with a diverse collection of splashy sets by the likes of Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Billy Joel, Lana Del Rey, P!NK, Take That, BLACKPINK and Guns N' Roses. It’s expected to break its 2022 record, with all nine shows selling out—that's more than 550k tickets sold.

The company has also booked the largest EDM show in Colorado history with ILLENIUM: Trilogy, which will take place at Empower Stadium at Mile High on 6/17.
