IT’S GONNA BE A CAPITAL SUMMER IN NYC, Y’ALL!

Grab your sunscreen and look out for Pizza Rat because this summer Gotham’s city parks will be filled with live music courtesy of the Capital One City Parks Foundation SummerStage festival.

From salsa, jazz, hip-hop, indie rock and reggae to Afrobeat, soul, pop, country and much more, this summer’s eclectic lineup spans 80 free and benefit shows in Central Park and other al fresco locales. The 2023 calendar boasts sets by Juanes, Tanya Tucker, Buddy Guy, Marisa Monte, Indigo Girls, Garbage, Kool & The Gang, Skip Marley, Noel Ghallagher’s High Flying Birds, Grandmaster Flash and Regina Spektor, among others.

The action kicks off 6/10 with a free concert in Central Park featuring St. Paul & The Broken Bones, part of the Subaru Music Series. Other highlights include a 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop with performances by Grandmaster Flash, Noname, Goyo, MIKE, Emicida, dead prez, The Originals and more. The Charlie Parker Jazz Festival returns for its 31st season with free shows at Harlem’s historic Marcus Garvey Park and Tompkins Square Park in the East Village.

Whether you fancy some reggae vibes on the Coney Island Boardwalk or Indian bhangra in Queens, this summer New York’s hottest clubs are all outdoors. We expect the aroma of cannabis will be a unifying theme.
