Spotify and Hulu hosted a celebration for the RapCaviar Presents docuseries at Ysabel in West Hollywood on Thursday night (3/23). Guests included Spotify Head of Music Jeremy Erlich, Coi Leray, Ty Dolla $ign, Saweetie, Coco Jones, Mustard, Freddie Gibbs, 24kGoldn, Alfredo Flores, executive producer Karam Gill, director Quan Lateef-Hill and executive producer and Spotify Creative Director and Head of Urban Music Carl Chery. Our own Simon Glickman somehow eluded security and made an appearance, which put more than a few people off their caviar.
The new series, an extension of Spotify’s flagship hip-hop playlist "RapCaviar," boasts conversations with the likes of City Girls, Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B, Tyler, The Creator, Polo G, Roddy Ricch and more. All six episodes premiere 3/30 on Hulu.
"RapCaviar is amazing," observed Jeremy Erlich to Carl Chery, "but where are the toast points?" Later, there was stepping and repeating.
Uptown/Republic artist Coi Leray, who really glammed up the joint, was delighted to know she could easily pop down Fairfax at any time for some rugelach.
"Carl," said Warner star Saweetie to Chery, "you'll keep those HITS idiots the hell away from me, right?"
Overcome by the joyous vibes on Fairfax, Hulu's Dane Joseph and Belisa Balaban, Chery and Hulu's Kate Bustamante and Gill brainstormed a new franchise called "KlezmerCaviar."
"These martoonis are strong as heck," slurred Glickman. "I'm-a go get three more." Meanwhile, Spotify's Ivana Robles remembered her training and smiled pleasantly until he was gone.
