AEG Presents and social-impact digital-marketing platform Propeller will produce Re:SET, a 12-city benefit concert series with an innovative new model, this summer. LCD Soundsystem, Steve Lacy and boygenius will headline.
Promising "less noise, more music," Re:SET was conceived as an artist- and fan-friendly alternative to the standard summer concert experience. Taking place over four weekends in June, each weekend will see three cities in the same region hosting, with each Re:SET headliner playing each city on consecutive days. The concept provides artists a respite from the standard summer itinerary of sheds and amphitheaters, while fans get a leisurely day featuring full sets from every artist, on one stage with no conflicts.
In each city, the headliner will curate the lineup for their day. boygenius will be bringing along Clairo, Dijon and Bartees Strange. Traveling with LCD Soundsystem will be Jamie xx, IDLES, Big Freedia and L’Rain. And Lacy will welcome James Blake, Toro y Moi and Fousheé.
Attendees will be asked to take action benefiting national nonprofits NRDC (the Natural Resources Defense Council), the PTM Foundation, Sounds of Saving and Headcount. Local charities will also be involved. In Los Angeles 6/2-4 at Brookside at the Rose Bowl, it’s Stop AAPI Hate; at New York’s Forest Hills Stadium 6/16-18, it’s Queens Community House; and at Nashville’s Great Lawn in Centennial Park 6/23-25, it’s Oasis Center. The do-gooder orgs were hand-selected by the local-promoter offices of AEG Presents.
