UMPG has appointed Shirin Foroutan to senior vice president and general manager of UMP Europe. Based in London, she’ll report to UMPG COO Marc Cimino. Foroutan succeeds Simon Baker, who’s been with the company since 2018 and will continue in a senior management capacity.
Foroutan will work closely with both the company’s European managing directors and its C-suite leadership in Santa Monica.
She previously served as vice president, creative at BMI, where she signed and/or renewed deals with such artists as Arlo Parks, Labrinth, The 1975, Ellie Goulding, Tems and Johnny Marr.
"We are delighted to have Shirin join the UMPG family as she takes on this role vital to the success of our company," said Cimino. "From the moment we met her, we knew she'd fit right into our unique culture. We have no doubt Shirin will bring enormous value and energy to our efforts to make sure our songwriters are treated with the best care in the world.”
Foroutan added, "I'm confident that UMP Europe can reach even greater heights by focusing on innovative, collaborative and relationship-driven strategies. I’m grateful to Jody Gerson, Marc Cimino and JW Beekman for the opportunity and look forward to working with our European MDs and their teams to provide invaluable services to UMPG’s creators and partners.” She also looks forward to ignoring our emails.
