Bad Bunny's Un Verano Sin Ti (Rimas) is the biggest album of 2022 with 3.4m in total activity. This marks the first time a non-English-language album has finished the year with that distinction. Nearly 98% of Un Verano Sin Ti's activity came from streaming, with on-demand audio reaching nearly 4.3b in the U.S.—no other album this year came close to that number.
Clocking in at #2 overall for the year is Taylor Swift's Midnights (Republic), which likely caused a few sleepless nights for Team Bunny after opening with a stunning 1.6m its October first week. Midnights remained a serious threat but ultimately finishes in the runner-up slot less than 100k behind Bad Bunny's blockbuster. In only 10 weeks, Midnights has accumulated more than 3.3m in activity. More than half of that, 1.8m+, comes from pure album sales—including a whopping 900k vinyl copies.
Morgan Wallen's nearly two-year-old Dangerous: The Double Album (Big Loud/Mercury) is the second-most-streamed set of 2022 with more than 2.9b. Dangerous, which was 2021's top set, finishes the year with 2.4m in total activity, good for #3 overall.
Harry Styles' Harry's House (Columbia) is the only other album to break the 2m barrier this year. It finishes 2022 at #4 with 2.2m in activity.
