NOISEMAKERS: A HOLIDAY SPECIAL

In our last Noisemakers roundup of 2022, we present eight more rising professionals from different parts of the biz whose dedication and effort make their superiors look good.

This week's entrants will also find their faces in our last mag of the year, which could make for a great (or dismal) conversation starter at their holiday dinners.

Rika Tischendorf
GM, Babyface Entertainment

Two years ago, German-born Tischendorf pitched the legendary Babyface on an album that became Girls Night Out (Capitol) and oversaw every facet of its development and rollout, from handpicking the female artists featured to A&R’ing every song. “Keeps on Fallin’” f/Ella Mai went to #1 at R&B radio and is nominated for a Grammy. Already at work on a documentary about Babyface and the album, she also has her sights set on its follow-up. A former professional ballroom dancer, Tischendorf holds two master’s degrees. We’re just masterful at clearing a room.

Touré Ali Shiver
Associate Director, Digital Marketing, Columbia

Over the years Shiver has worked with fellow Virginia native Pharrell, Tyler, the Creator (the #1 album CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST) and Chlöe (the rollout of her platinum single “Have Mercy”). He’s presently devoting his energies to the latter’s debut album, new music from Q, Fivio Foreign and Pharrell (“Down in Atlanta”) and developing new Columbia signees KayCyy and RealestK. In his spare time, Shiver assembles Lego cars and Gundam models and plays Yu-Gi-Oh, which helps him “think strategically and be creative.” At this point, nothing could help us do that.

Nicole Schoen Visconti
Agent, Music Marketing, UTA

Visconti has posed with Midland in front of a sold-out crowd at Red Rocks and brought her parents to work—watching Pitbull perform in Savannah. This year, she marketed 1,700+ concerts and a raft of arena tours. She’s now celebrating LCD Soundsystem’s sold-out, 20-night Brooklyn Steel residency, working on 2023 treks for Adam Doleac, Jake Wesley Rogers and Sullivan King and planning events for La Femme Majeure, a UTA women-in-music initiative she co-founded. Visconti also once played Alicia Keys’ piano at the artist’s Jungle City Studios. We can’t relate.

Connor Hachey
Senior Director, Digital Marketing & Creative Services, Virgin Music

In one career highlight, Hachey met Britney Spears, back when he managed digital projects for iHeartRadio Orlando. His more recent on-the-job adventures include launching an AR TikTok campaign for Cyn's "House With a View,” which garnered 1.1b+ views, and working on the campaign for NCT 127's 2 BADDIES, which tied STICKER as the act’s highest-charting debut. He’s now focused on digital marketing for Trippie Redd, Mazie and Rema as well as Cyn. A Bravo TV and Real Housewives aficionado, Hachey is #TeamKathyHilton (sadly, not #TeamHITS).

Perdi Higgs
Head of Streaming & Digital Partnerships, Dirty Hit

After cutting her teeth at Apple Music U.K., Higgs joined the indie Dirty Hit in 2019 to run communications with streaming partners. She’s led campaigns for Wolf Alice’s U.K. #1 album, Blue Weekend, beabadoobee’s Fake It Flowers and Beatopia and Rina Sawayama’s SAWAYAMA and Hold the Girl and helped shepherd The 1975’s Being Funny in a Foreign Language—its fifth consecutive U.K. #1 album and the first to be released globally by Dirty Hit via Ingrooves. During her Cambridge days, Higgs majored in theology. We majored in rolling joints.

Fernanda Arcay
Head of Marketing, NEON16

In her two years at NEON16, Lex Borrero and Tainy’s music and lifestyle hub, Arcay has led campaigns for the Miami label and its adjacent production house, Ntertain, ranging from the fan event for the video premiere of Tainy’s Latin Grammy-winning song “Lo Siento BB:/” to overseeing partnerships with Pandora, VEVO, Amazon Music, Disney+ and the NFL. She counts witnessing Tainy make the leap from hitmaker to performing artist as one of her own career highlights as the NEON16 co-founder preps his debut full-length, DATA. Arcay minored in French language—allez!

Amanda McNelis
Director, Commercial Strategy, Ingrooves

McNelis once got to hang with Steve Aoki at his house, assisting Amazon film editorial footage in support of the DJ’s album HiROQUEST: Genesis and chatting about cryotherapy and Slim Jims. More recently, she worked on a livestream with The 1975 and Amazon Music at Madison Square Garden, as well as charli d’amelio’s latest project, material by K-poppers TWICE, ITZY and (G)I-DLE and the BTS catalog. This motorcycle-riding, cross-stitching exec was also featured in a music video for the Swedish band Ghost. Our hobbies include sleeping and eating.

Joshua Rothstein
Partnership Marketing Manager, Primary Wave

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Olivia Newton-John’s Physical, the singer, Rothstein and 5,000+ others set the Guinness World Record for the most people simultaneously performing lying lateral leg raises, a stunt that generated $40k for Newton-John’s charity. He’s now focused on developing a wine for Grammy winner Aly & AJ’s 2023 headlining tour and booking artists to perform on New Year’s Eve in Times Square. Rothstein’s “maybe not so distant relative” Arnold Rothstein famously rigged the 1919 World Series. Too bad Joshua couldn’t rig this feature.
