THE LIPMANS: A TRAIPSE
DOWN MEMORY LANE

As Republic siblings and co-heads Monte and Avery Lipman prepare to be celebrated as City of Hope's Spirit of Life honorees at this year's gala, we thought we'd offer up a little tribute of our own the only way we know how: by dredging up a bunch of photos from our musty archives. So here's a little time-traveling fantasia of the bros, with mazels on their success, their philanthropy and their general menschiness. Lord knows how they've put up with us all these years.

reminded Monte of his days as "the Jewish Havlicek."

Not even appearing on the cover of this disreputable mag could impair the duo's momentum.
