Compton native Channel Tres has inked to RCA in partnership with his current label, Godmode. The pact commences with his latest release, “No Limit,” which arrives ahead of his debut full-length, Real Cultural Shit.
The album serves as an introduction to Tres’ “Compton house” style of dance music, which combines the rhythms of Chicago house and Detroit techno with West Coast rap.
RCA CEO Peter Edge, who calls himself "a longtime, major house-music fan," said, "Tres has been on my radar and my playlists for a while via his independent releases. There is simply no one like him and no one doing what he's doing. I truly believe he can do big things. We are so excited to partner with him and Godmode and welcome them into the RCA Records family.”
Added Godmode co-founder Talya Elitzer, “Ever since he walked into my studio, Channel has been clear on his mission to reimagine house music for a new community. I am proud to be partnering with a label like RCA that recognizes both Channel’s star power and the modern approach to artist development that Godmode prides itself on.”
Tres is gearing up to embark on his biggest North American headlining tour thus far. Having sold out various dates, he’s added a third night at L.A.’s Fonda Theatre on 12/8.
