FUTURE SO BRIGHT FOR INFLUENCE MEDIA

Influence Media Partners has acquired the publishing catalog of Epic/Freebandz's Future, the music-rights company's latest eight-figure acquisition. The deal was announced by Influence Media Partner and Founding Advisor Rene McLean.

Comprising 612 titles created between 2004 and 2020, the purchase includes "Life Is Good" and "Jumpman” with Drake as well as “King’s Dead” featuring Kendrick Lamar, "Selfish” with Rihanna, The Weeknd-assisted “Low Life" and Future's solo hit “Mask Off.”

"I put everything into my music, and I wanted to make sure it was in good hands as I thought about the next chapter of these songs," Future said. "I’m proud to partner with Rene and the team at Influence Media and send a signal that this music has timeless value. My music is my art, and these songs represent some of the most precious artwork of my career.”

Said McLean, "Future is a cultural icon. He continues to be a blueprint for impact and success in the music industry and has reinvented music in ways that no one has ever expected."

To date, Influence Media’s fund with BlackRock and WMG has invested in more than 20 catalogs from such artists as Tainy, Julia Michaels, Ali Tamposi, The Stereotypes, Jessie Reyez and Skyler Stonestreet.

Greenberg Traurig's Jeffrey Smith and Robert Finan represented Future in the deal.
