THIS IS 40: CELEBRATING THRILLER

Forty years ago, when the U.S. was being pummeled by the Reagan recession, millions of people scraped together enough cash to buy a copy of Michael Jackson’s Thriller as it became the biggest album in history. Sony Music and the Jackson estate have a plan to celebrate the milestone.

The double CD MICHAEL JACKSON THRILLER 40, to be released 11/18, will include the original album plus 10 bonus tracks—rarities and demos—that will be revealed one at a time starting after Labor Day. Another 15 tracks that have been in limited release will be available as part of an expanded digital drop.

Lest one forget, Thriller, issued 11/30/82, was responsible for eight Grammy wins, has sold more than 100m copies worldwide and spent nearly 10 years in the Top 200. And we still can't get enough of "Billie Jean."
