FLIPOVER FRIDAY: NEW ARRIVALS AT iTUNES & APPLE MUSIC

Muse’s first album in four years leads an all-new Top 10 at iTunes, DJ Khaled is big in streaming and sales and three duets are in the Top 10 at iTunes songs this Flipover Friday.

DJ Khaled’s 13th album, God Did (We the Best/Epic), featuring such guests as Drake, Future and SZA, is delivering a strong showing in the early hours of its release; it’s #1 at Apple Music, #2 at iTunes and three of its tracks—“God Did” f/Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, JAY-Z, John Legend & Fridayy, “No Secret” f/Drake and “Use This Gospel” f/Kanye West & Eminem—are in the Top 50 at Apple Music.

The only other album to make the Top 10 on both lists is JID’s third set, The Story Forever (Dreamville/Interscope); it’s #5 at iTunes and #7 at Apple Music.

Back on the sales side, Muse’s ninth album, Will of the People (Warner), holds down the top slot. Midnight Control (Better Noise) from the Huntington Beach reggae-rock act Dirty Heads jams in at #3.

Nicki Minaj’s greatest hits collection, Queen Radio: Volume 1 (Republic), is #4 on the sales dial ahead of three rock acts: Oakland metal band Machine Head has Of Kingdom and Crown (Nuclear Blast) at #6; Tedeschi Trucks Band’s I Am the Moon: IV. Farewell–EP (Swamp Family/Fantasy) rises to #7; and Marcus King’s Young Blood (American/ Republic) is crowned #8.

K-pop group TWICE hits #9 with Between 1&2 (JYP), and the debut from Columbia Nashville’s Kameron Marlowe, We Were Cowboys, is #10.

The Top 10 at iTunes songs is populated by new arrivals from some big names. Elton John & Britney Spears’ “Hold Me Closer” (Interscope) leads the way at #1, with HARDY & Lainey Wilson’s “Wait in the Truck” (Big Loud) right behind them at #2. Kenny Chesney & Old Dominion crack open at #8 via “Beer With My Friends” (Blue Chair/Warner Nashville).
