HITS' 36TH ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL:
ALWAYS AND FOREVER

As we prepare to roll out our 36th Anniversary Special issue, we continue rifling through the capacious HITS photo archives. Our exploration uncovered this classic shot, which finds current UMPG boss Jody Gerson (then at EMI Music Publishing) with Bob Flax, soul legend Luther Vandross, EMP chief Marty Bandier and manager Shep Gordon. Shortly after this photo was taken, everyone here had a laugh about HITS' actually surviving for five years, which was obviously some sort of fluke.
