FLYING COACH

Dick Vermeil, the onetime head coach of the UCLA Bruins, Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs, who won a Super Bowl as coach of the St. Louis Rams (remember them?) in 2000, will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday. He’s only the 12th coach to be so honored—and there’s another distinction worth noting here: Vermeil is the father-in-law of former CMG, Columbia and Epic head Steve Barnett.

You may be wondering what Steve and better half Nancy have been doing since he retired. Besides globetrotting and being bicoastal, the Barnetts and their four sons will be in Canton watching Grandpa Dick put on the coveted jacket—and we'd be shocked if he doesn't tear up, like he did when he hoisted the Lombardi Trophy 22 years ago.

The NFL Network and ESPN will air the enshrinement ceremony live starting at 9am PT.
