In our latest roundup, we present eight more industry stars of tomorrow whose dedication and effort make their superiors look good.
The octet also appears in our magazine, the pages of which we understand make for decent sweat rags, so handy during this heat wave.
Taylor Forbes
Director, Global Brand Partnerships & Sync, Warner Records
Forbes went from celebrating her high school graduation with a Red Hot Chili Peppers show to listening to their #1 album Unlimited Love with them at producer Rick Rubin’s studio. She also marked the release with a Lakers partnership. Forbes has likewise worked to secure brand deals for Saweetie (Crocs, Jack Daniels), Nessa Barrett (DC Shoes), Sofia Reyes (Tostitos) and Omar Apollo (McDonalds). When she was in high school, a version of “When I’m Gone (Cups)” on Forbes’ YouTube channel went viral, inspiring the Pitch Perfect version. We’ve inspired nothing.
Cameron Lutz
SVP, Strategic Marketing and Content Innovation, Range Media Partners
Having worked with Midland since their inception, initially as an employee of Meta, nothing in Lutz’s career has topped standing at the side of the stage as they appeared at Stagecoach earlier this year. He likewise oversees marketing initiatives for Jack Harlow, Mariah Carey, Bazzi, Cordae and more, most recently spearheading a deal for the latter to create a live album that premiered exclusively on Meta. Lutz also helps manage Yellowstone star Ryan Bingham. The Range Media exec studied paleontology in high school, but he couldn’t avoid us fossils.
Kiely Mosiman
Agent, Wasserman Music
For Mosiman, it doesn’t get much better than being called onstage by Goth Babe at Bonnaroo so the crowd could sing “Happy Birthday” to her, then surfing said crowd in an inflatable boat. She’s presently gearing up for a Hippo Campus tour, Margo Price’s new record, Durand Jones & the Indications’ August co-headlining of the Hollywood Bowl and 2023 records and road shows for Samia, Gus Dapperton and JAWNY. When Mosiman was 12, a go-kart accident resulted in a length of rebar penetrating her leg. “I’m fine now!” she says. At least until she saw this item.
Austin Barmak
Head of Latin, Electric Feel Entertainment
Post-lockdown, Barmak was thrilled about the return of live shows, including Lollapalooza Argentina, where client KHEA performed for a crowd of 90,000 people, who sang the tracks he’d released during the quarantine back to him. In addition to KHEA, Barmak is focused on producer El Guincho’s solo album, arriving courtesy of Interscope, as well as latest EF signing Kuinvi, who contributed to six tracks on Becky G’s ESQUEMAS. When he’s not taking over the Latin market, Barmak’s practicing his limbo. We have two left feet.
Reza Sarrafieh
National Director of Radio Promotion, Roc Nation
When Sarrafieh was at Interscope, he visited Common’s childhood home and met the rapper’s mom. Currently at Roc Nation (where he’s seen JAY-Z stroll by) and having just come off Snoh Aalegra’s sold-out headlining tour, he’s now prepping for WILLOW’s new album, introducing L.A.’s Kalan FrFr and boosting Vory (“Do Not Disturb” f/NAV & Yung Bleu was #1 Most Added at Urban). He’s also excited about new releases by Ambré, Dixson and Reuben Vincent. Prior to entering the biz, Sarrafieh planned to be an immigration lawyer. We never made it past high school.
Kelsey Ohara
Director, Media Advertising Strategy & Product Development, Virgin Music
While at Capitol Music Group, Ohara worked on Paul McCartney’s McCartney III—which she notes was “amazing”—and helped catapult singles by Halsey, Surfaces and Lewis Capaldi, plus Trippie Redd’s album A Love Letter to You 4, to #1. She’s run digital-ad and influencer strategy since joining Virgin for projects like Lauv’s “Kids Are Born Stars” and new signee Montell Fish’s “Hollow Lover.” Thanks to a basketball injury, Ohara no longer has an ACL in one of her knees, but she can still run away from us.
Danny Herrle
Manager, Milk & Honey Music + Sports + Ventures
Herrle will never forget being at a Jacob Collier album playback in 2019, during his time in A&R at Interscope, and sitting with Quincy Jones hearing personal stories about Q’s work with Frank Sinatra, Miles Davis and Michael Jackson. Having recently joined Milk & Honey, Herrle’s now excited to build a roster that includes management client Brasko, who co-wrote numerous tracks on the upcoming YUNGBLUD album and has lately been busy writing with Måneskin, Bebe Rexha and Sueco. In his spare time, Herrle enjoys surfing. We also like to surf—the Web, that is.
Katrin Weber
Director, Sales, RCA
Weber will always cherish meeting her childhood idols, the Backstreet Boys, during an interview she set up with Apple Music. Recently, she and the RCA sales team executed marketing campaigns with DSPs for Tate McRae’s debut album, i used to think i could fly, including social content in partnership with Spotify inspired by in-flight safety videos. Next up is the ELVIS soundtrack, featuring Doja Cat, among other big names. Prior to joining RCA in 2017, Weber was SAINt JHN’s day-to-day manager. Our day-to-day is a little less saintly.
