“I do like having my name on buildings,” says entrepreneur/tycoon Ron Burkle as he joins Anthony Kiedis and Flea of Warner’s Red Hot Chili Peppers for a photo op at the edifice dedicated in his name at the Silverlake Conservatory of Music, “and this is my first one of the day—those are always the best.” Burkle added that Silverlake was one of his favorite neighborhoods in Los Angeles, especially “those cute shops on Rodeo Drive.”

The beloved music school, co-founded by Flea in 2001 in response to arts-education cutbacks in L.A., has become a vital community resource.

The Peppers will kick off their global stadium tour (in support of #1 album Unlimited Love) 6/4 with a show in Seville, Spain.
