MILLION DOLLAR BASH

Christie’s has set a pre-auction estimate of $750k to $1.25m for a one-of-a-kind pressing of Bob Dylan’s first new studio recording of “Blowin’ in the Wind” since 1962.

The first recording to employ technology from T Bone Burnett’s company NeoFidelity, the new Ionic Original version of “Blowin’ in the Wind” will be offered during The Exceptional Sale on 7/7 as a highlight of Classic Week London. Exclusive in-person listening experiences will take place by appointment in Los Angeles (6/8), New York (6/15) and London (7/2-7).

“Sixty years after Bob wrote and recorded ‘Blowin’ in the Wind,’ he's giving us a new recording of the song, one that is both deeply relevant to our times and reflective of the decades of the artist’s life and experience,” said Burnett. “We’re grateful to Christie’s for their belief in the Ionic Original and for presenting Bob’s masterful recording to the world in a unique and meaningful way.”

If you miss out on the Dylan disc, perhaps you can pick up a pair of Louis XVI wall lights in delicate gilt-bronze mounted with portrait medallions of the king and queen.
