AMAZON MUSIC CELEBRATES APAHM

Throughout the month of May, Amazon Music is celebrating Asian Pacific American Heritage Month with a series of events, content, API-focused playlists and more.

In addition to exclusive releases from artists like thuy, mxmtoon, WOOSUNG and 2022 Grammy winner Kalani Pe’a, Amazon Music joins forces with AEG, the Recording Academy L.A. Chapter, Gold House, Pacific Bridge Arts Foundation and Transparent Arts to present the third annual IDENTITY livestream.

Featuring performances from mxmtoon, thuy, Su Lee and B.I, the event takes place on 5/28 at the GRAMMY Museum and will be livestreamed via the Amazon Music channel on Twitch. Co-hosted by Dumbfoundead and Sherry Cola, the evening also includes PSAs and panels from API community members like Guapdad 4000, MIYAVI, Liza Soberano and Rhea Raj, among others, and celebrates the PBA’s scholarship programs.

“Our team not only amplifies API creators during APAHM, but year-round, to honor and celebrate their contributions while uplifting our community,” said Frankie Yaptinchay, Senior Project Manager of Audience Development & Creative Partnerships for API creators at Amazon Music. “This year, we are honored to continue to support the Pacific Bridge Arts Foundation by supporting the GRAMMY Camp scholarship program to help develop the next generation of API creatives and music executives.”

Additionally, Amazon Music has partnered with 88rising to release a short film highlighting Korean Canadian artist/producer/multi-instrumentalist Luna Li, which arrives on 5/20 via the Amazon Music app, as well as collaborated with the Asian American Girl Club to create exclusive new merch and will debut the second installment of the IYKYK iteration of the ongoing Group Thread panel series via Twitch.
