THE WHO TO TOUR WITH STRINGS ATTACHED

Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend will visit most of the cities scheduled for their scrapped 2020 The Who Hits Back! tour this spring and have added a 13-city fall leg.

Again using local orchestras, The Who Hits Back! will kick off on 4/22 in Hollywood, Fla., and play cities in the East and South, including a 5/26 stop at Madison Square Garden.

The second leg starts 10/2 in Toronto, stopping at the Hollywood Bowl on 11/1 before wrapping in Las Vegas 11/5.

Live Nation is promoting most of the shows. Pre-sales start today. Tickets go on sale to the public Friday.

Townshend and Daltrey will be joined onstage by guitarist/singer Simon Townshend, keyboardists Loren Gold and Emily Marshall, bassist Jon Button, drummer Zak Starkey and singer Billy Nicholls. Keith Levenson will conduct, with Katie Jacoby serving as first-chair violinist and Audrey Snyder as lead cellist.

“Pete and I said we’d be back, but we didn't think we'd have to wait two years for the privilege,” said Daltrey. ”This makes the chance to perform even more special this time around. So many livelihoods have been impacted due to COVID, so we are thrilled to get everyone back together—the band, the crew and the fans.”

The Who last toured in 2019.
