Red (Taylor’s Version) (Republic) has arrived in a big way at iTunes and generated a Taylor Swift listening party at Apple Music this Flipover Friday.
Sitting at #1 on the sales side is the 30-track edition of Swift’s rerecording of her 2012 album, Red. Red (Taylor’s Version), boasting a 25-second message from the artist, opens at #3. The clean version with the message is #7. The clean version without the message is #9. At Apple Music, the edition with the message is #7. The original, Big Machine release is right behind it, at #8. (Are that many people doing an A/B comparison?) And another four Swift albums are in the Top 50.
Also making it onto both charts is Bruno Mars & Anderson .Paak’s An Evening With Silk Sonic (Aftermath/Atlantic), at #2 on both iTunes and Apple Music.
The aftermath of the CMA Awards pushes plenty of country releases into the Top 10; Jason Aldean’s Macon (Broken Bow) is at #4 and Cody Jinks’ Mercy (Late August) at #5 on albums; Luke Combs’ “Doing This” (River House/Columbia Nashville) tops iTunes songs, and Blake Shelton’s “Come Back As a County Boy” (Ten Point/Warner Nashville) is #7.
The deluxe edition of Little Mix’s Between Us (Columbia), meanwhile, is #8.
