AMY MORGAN NAMED TOP MANAGER

Glass Animals manager Amy Morgan of September Management will receive Manager of the Year honors at the Artist & Manager Awards. The Black Music Coalition has been named Industry Champions.

Morgan will be recognized for her global success with Glass Animals, including a multifaceted Internet-led campaign for their third studio album, Dreamland. The set is the band’s most successful release to date, charting at #2 in the U.K., #7 in the U.S. and #6 in Australia. Single “Heat Waves” has surpassed 1b streams.

The campaign overcame a wave of COVID-related barriers to incorporate everything from 3D artwork, livestreamed events, syncs in FIFA ’21 and Minecraft fan fiction to Zoom sessions, Discord chats and Reddit hangs.

Following the lifting of restrictions, Morgan is helping the band re-embark on their tour of the U.K., North America and Europe. They headline London's Alexandra Palace in November.

Music Managers Forum CEO Annabella Coldrick and Featured Artists Coalition CEO David Martin, who are organizing the Artist & Manager Awards, said in a joint statement: “We'd like to congratulate all our winners for their achievements in the face of adversity. The pandemic has been incredibly tough for all artists and managers, many of whom have been left to operate without the support of a safety net, but Amy absolutely encapsulates how our community has attempted to bounce back with innovation, entrepreneurship and creativity.”

The Black Music Coalition, founded in the wake of #TheShowMustBePausedUK, is being honored for its dedication to eradicating racially biased practices and barriers and establishing equity and equality for Black executives, artists and their communities in the music industry. In little more than a year, the organization has assumed a leadership role in these discussions, publishing a manifesto and building a network for change."

Coldrick and Martin continued: “The battle against racial injustice is a defining issue of our time, and now, more than ever, it is vital that all in the industry continue to step up and push for lasting change.”

The awards will take place in London on 11/18 with SoundCloud as the headline sponsor. As previously announced, the event will see Elton John and David Furnish honored with the Artist & Manager Partnership Award, sponsored by British music copyright collective PPL (Phonographic Performance Limited).
