PARKS AMONG BMI LONDON HONOREES

Top U.K. and European songwriters were honored at Monday night’s BMI London Awards, with indie superstar Arlo Parks and in-demand songwriter and producer Inflo going home with gongs.

Parks received the BMI Impact Award for groundbreaking artistry, creative vision and impact on the future of music. The honor joins an already impressive awards haul for the young star, which includes AIM Awards, a BRIT and the Mercury Music Prize for her debut, Collapsed in Sunbeams.

British songwriter and producer Dean ‘Info’ Josiah Cover, who worked on Adele’s upcoming album, won the BMI Champion Award in recognition of his creative accomplishments and powerful contributions to culture, social policy and racial justice through his music. His back catalog includes widely praised albums by Little Simz and Michael Kiwanuka, as well as his work as a member of the SAULT collective.

Song of the Year went to “Before You Go,” co-written by Tom Barnes for Lewis Capaldi. Writers recognized in the Top 30 most-performed songs list included Jessica Agombar and David Stewart for tracks written for BTS and Jonas Brothers, beabadoobee, and KOLIDESCOPES for their work with Joel Corry and MNEK.

Others named on the night included Anne-Marie, Niall Horan, Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran. Check out the full list of winners here.
