FUGEES REUNITE FOR WORLDWIDE TOUR

Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean and Pras Michel are reuniting for the first Fugees world tour in 25 years. It begins informally with a secret show in New York on Wednesday.

Presented by Diaspora Calling and produced by Live Nation, the 12-city outing formally begins 11/2 in Chicago, with a stop at The Forum on 11/12. It will wrap with performances in Nigeria and Ghana.

The tour will celebrate the 25th anniversary of their 1996 Grammy-winning album, The Score. Having amassed worldwide sales of 22m albums, it is considered the best-selling hip-hop album in history.

“The Fugees have a complex but impactful history,” Hill said. “I wasn’t even aware the 25th anniversary had arrived until someone brought it to my attention. I decided to honor this significant project, its anniversary and the fans who appreciated the music by creating a peaceful platform where we could unite, perform the music we loved and set an example of reconciliation for the world."

The Fugees' charitable fund will partner with Global Citizen to enact philanthropic initiatives around the tour.

Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday.
