Billie Eilish’s upcoming Darkroom/Interscope album will receive the tribute-concert treatment on Disney+ a month after its release. Filmed at the Hollywood Bowl with Gustavo Dudamel conducting the L.A. Philharmonic, Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles will air 9/3; Eilish's Happier Than Ever will be released 7/30.
The concert features FINNEAS, the Los Angeles Children’s Chorus and Brazilian guitarist Romero Lubambo. Interscope Films and Darkroom Productions produced in association with Nexus Studios and Aron Levine Productions; Robert Rodriguez and Patrick Osborne directed.
Rendered in both live action and animation, the film will take viewers on a dreamlike journey through Los Angeles and its most iconic backdrops.
Calling the project an honor, Eilish said, “To be able to present my album in this way and dedicate it to the city that I love and grew up in is so exciting to me. I hope you love it.”
Said Rodriguez, “The way the narrative story and animated pieces weave through her incredible concert performance makes this a spectacular event that is truly unique.”
