GLASTONBURY CALLS OFF FALL FESTIVAL

Glastonbury organizers have called off their planned one-off concert Equinox in September for “a number of reasons,” according to organizer Emily Eavis, who didn’t divulge further details.

In lieu of what would have been its 50th anniversary edition, canceled for a second year in a row due to the pandemic, Glastonbury was planning a one-day festival. It was granted a license for up to 50k attendees.

Eavis revealed on Instagram Tuesday that the event would no longer proceed. Instead, she said, planners are putting “all of our energy” into opening their campsite at Worthy Farm for the summer. The BBC reports there will be no further updates. Eavis has said she hopes the festival will return in 2022.

Glastonbury hosted a livestream concert from the site in May featuring sets by Haim, Coldplay, Radiohead and Wolf Alice, among others.
