KEVIN WOLFF IS DRUMMING UP A LOT OF BUSINESS

Everywhere we turn these days, we see signs of loud guitar music making serious noise on the charts and in the zeitgeist. One person who’s more than a little pleased to see this is YMU manager Kevin Wolff.

For one thing, Kevin manages Travis Barker, whose ubiquity as drummer/collaborator/tattoo museum boggles our minds. Travis, of course, brought the rawwwwk to Machine Gun Kelly’s big recent album, Willow’s buzzing “Transparent Soul” and material by Wolff-developed young phenom Caspr, among many other amped-up projects.

Meanwhile, Mr. Wolff is launching longtime client Rancid’s co-headlining tour with Dropkick Murphys, hitting outdoor venues starting on 8/10, and preparing a live album/documentary one-two punch for The Interrupters prior to their embarking on the Hella Mega Tour with Crush-repped Green Day, Fall Out Boy and Weezer.

Oh, and his client The Glitch Mob’s legendary, decade-old bootleg remix of The White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army” will at last get a legit commercial release—in conjunction with the Stripes themselves and Third Man Records. Look for a series of NFTs around the drop.

It isn’t all stompboxes and beer pong, though; Kevin also just picked up rapper/actor/philanthropist Common for management ahead of the influential artist’s new album series, A Beautiful Revolution.

And Kevin’s just getting started. Merely enumerating what he’s been up to makes us feel like we need a nap.
