Olivia Rodrigo has reclaimed the U.K.’s Official Charts double as SOUR (Polydor) returns to #1 on albums and “good 4 u” extends its reign to a fifth week on singles, with 73k in sales, including 8.8m streams.
SOUR now enjoys a third week at the top, thanks mostly to streaming, which is where 91% of its sales transpired this week.
Nick Cave & Warren Ellis are new at #2 today with the CD and vinyl rollout of Carnage (Goliath). BRITs Rising Star winner Griff has the most-downloaded album of the week; her debut mixtape, One Foot in Front of the Other (Warner Records) is at #4.
Further down, Consequences (BMG) is Joan Armatrading’s first U.K. Top 10 album in 30 years, coming in at #10.
In topping the U.K.’s Official Singles chart this week, “good 4 u” claims the mantle of longest-reigning rock-influenced #1 in 25 years, since British band Babylon Zoo’s “Spaceman” in 1996. At #2, KSI’s “Holiday” (BMG) is the highest new entry today.
Elsewhere in the Top 10, Mimi Webb’s “Good Without” (RCA) steps one place to #8; Eurovision winners Måneskin are also up one, to #6, with “I Wanna Be Your Slave” (RCA). The band’s four-year-old cover of Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons’ “Beggin',” meanwhile, zooms 63 places to #10 after going viral on TikTok.
Other climbers this week include Calvin Harris f/Tom Grennan’s “By Your Side” (Columbia), up two to #11, and Anne-Marie and Niall Horan’s “Our Song” (Atlantic), up five spots to #13.
