SPOTIFY CELEBRATES PRIDE MONTH

In celebration of Pride month, Spotify is launching CLAIM YOUR SPACE, a global campaign aimed at creating permanent space—both physically and digitally—for the LGBTQIA+ community.

Throughout the month of June, Spotify will hold a series of programs to commemorate LGBTQIA+ creators, cultural figures and activists who have created a space for themselves and their communities.

Returning this year is Spotify’s annual Pride Hub, which is dedicated to promoting LGBTQIA+ artists, podcasters and playlists, as well as highlighting exclusive Spotify Clips video content from artists like Kehlani, Hayley Kiyoko, Hope Tala, Princess Nokia, Leland, Kaydence and more.

Spotify also continues its Pride Singles program this year, working with queer artists Dua Saleh and Lido Pimienta to create a new set of original Pride songs set to arrive on 6/14.

As part of the campaign, Spotfy is teaming up with queer bars and clubs across the globe to create venue-specific playlists as well as Pride Cities playlists, which are curated by queer local musicians such as DJ Minx’s Detroit, Fancy Hagood’s Nashville, Big Freedia’s New Orleans, MUNA’s L.A. and more.

Additionally, Spotify is working with queer artists in Detroit, Nashville and New Orleans to commission permanent murals to celebrate groundbreaking local LGBTQIA+ artists and activists, in collaboration with queer community spaces and The Ally Coalition. Fans and listeners will also be able to share what Pride is to them through Spotify-created Pride cards on social media.

Throughout the month-long celebration, Spotify will be donating directly to its partners, including queer venues and local organizations like New Orlean’s BreakOUT!, Nashville’s Oasis Center and Detroit’s Ruth Ellis Center.
