Foo Fighters are set to claim their fifth U.K. #1 album, with Medicine at Midnight (Columbia) currently outselling the rest of the Top 10 combined. Over on singles, Olivia Rodrigo’s “drivers license” (Polydor) is on course for a fifth week on top.
Elsewhere on the U.K.’s Official Albums midweeks, Fleet Foxes start at #2 with Shore (Anti), following its release on physical (it arrived digital-only in September 2020).
The debut from London experimental group Black Country, New Road, For the First Time (Ninja Tune), is also new, at #3. The Weeknd’s greatest hits collection, The Highlights (Island), rounds out the Top 5 at #5.
The Staves are on track for their first U.K. Top 10 album with Good Woman (Atlantic) at #6, succeeded by Scottish group Deacon Blue’s Riding on the Tide of Love (Ear Music) at #7.
On the U.K.’s Official Singles midweeks, “drivers license” is 9,900 in sales ahead of its closest rival, “Wellerman” (Polydor) by Nathan Evans, 220 Kid and Billen Ted.
Tiesto’s “The Business” (Atlantic) has jumped six to land at #5, while Riton & Nightcrawlers f/Mufasa & Hypeman’s “Friday” (Ministry of Sound) rockets 16 places to #8.
Further down, “Bringing It Back” (CGM Records), the collab of West London rappers Digga D & AJ Tracey, could claim this week’s highest new entry at #16 though it stands only a handful of chart sales ahead of Cardi B’s “Up” (Atlantic), at #17.
