SPOTIFY PICKS 10 YOUNG COUNTRY ACTS TO WATCH

Spotify’s flagship country playlist Hot Country has posted its first Hot Country Artists to Watch list. The 10 include Warner Nashville’s Ian Munsick, Sony Nashville’s Kameron Marlowe and This Is Hit/Broken Bow’s Lainey Wilson.

“Launching our first-ever Artists to Watch list allows us to celebrate a diverse slate of young artists who will undoubtedly change the face of country music in 2021,” said John Marks, Spotify’s Head of Country.

Here’s the list.

Roman Alexander. A young troubadour with two decades of performing under his belt.

Priscilla Block. Mixing a blend of country pop and Southern rock, she's one of 2020’s breakout country artists.

Kidd G. His gritty, melodic sound and down-home style are equally inspired by classic country and hip-hop.

Willie Jones. Genre-bending singer/songwriter whose blend of hip-hop and country music has earned him more than 25m streams on Spotify.

Kameron Marlowe. A new voice in country with an unvarnished, rock-infused sound.

Ian Munsick. A pioneer of a new brand of western pop-laced country.

Nate Smith. His heartfelt country songs and honest performance style are informed by hardship.

Brittney Spencer. Her debut EP, released in late 2020, has garnered rave reviews from press and industry as well as Maren Morris and Amanda Shires.

Tiera. The flagship songwriter of the women-focused Songs & Daughters label.

Lainey Wilson. A Louisiana native with self-described “Bell Bottom Country” style blending traditional country with a retro flair.
