Doja Cat, Pop Smoke, Rod Wave and Tones and I received RIAA gold and platinum album awards for the first time in 2020.
The RIAA handed out a dozen multiplatinum single awards to first-timers, as well as 20 platinum awards and 48 gold single awards to other artists. Alamo’s Wave received 10 certifications, Doja Cat picked up seven and Pop Smoke nabbed six.
“We are thrilled to induct 53 artists into RIAA’s gold and platinum Class of 2020,” RIAA Chairman and CEO Mitch Glazier said. “Earning your first gold or platinum Award is a sign of true success and limitless possibilities.”
