FLIPOVER FRIDAY: NEW ARRIVALS AT iTUNES AND APPLE MUSIC

Guys with guitars and rappers fill the all-new Top 10 on the iTunes albums chart this Flipover Friday. Sturgill Simpson, the Eagles and Tom Petty lead the way. Justin Bieber has a new single as well.

Simpson’s bluegrass mixtape, Cuttin’ Grass—Vol. 1 (Butcher Shoppe Sessions) (High Top Mountain/Thirty Tigers), takes the top slot ahead of the Eagles' Live From the Forum MMXVIII (Rhino) at #2. The latter set was recorded during a September 2018 stand, the band's first gigs with Vince Gill and Deacon Frey, at the former home of the world-champion Los Angeles Lakers. Warner’s expanded edition of Petty’s 1994 masterwork, Wildflowers & All the Rest, settles in at #3.

Benny the Butcher’s Burden of Proof (Griselda/Empire) comes in at #4 in sales and is the top new arrival at Apple Music, bowing at #17.

British rockers The Struts walk into #5 with Strange Days (Interscope); Black Thought’s Streams of Thought, Vol. 3 (Passyunk/Republic), featuring guests ranging from ScHoolboy Q to Portugal.The Man, floats to #6.

Parker McCollum’s Hollywood Gold (MCA Nashville) shines at #7; Serpentine Prison (Book Records/Concord), from The National’s Matt Berninger, is #8; Jelly Roll’s Self Medicated (War Dog) doses at #9; and Trace AdkinsAin’t That Kind of Cowboy (Verge) saddles up to #10.

On the iTunes singles chart, Sada Baby f/Nicki Minaj’s “Whole Lotta Choppas (Remix)” (Asylum) tops the chart, followed by Demi Lovato’s politically charged 10/14 release “Commander in Chief” (Island) at #2 and Bieber & Benny Blanco’s “Lonely” (Friends Keep Secrets/Def Jam) snagging #4. Lana Del Rey has a new one, “Let Me Love You Like a Woman” (Interscope) at #17.
