Katy Perry, Metallica and NEEDTOBREATHE take the top three slots at iTunes albums this flipover Friday and Lil Wayne crashes the Apple Music Top 10 with the streaming debut of a mixtape from 2009.
NEEDTOBREATHE’s seventh studio album Out of Body (Elektra) leads an all-new Top 10 at iTunes albums followed by Metallica’s second live album with the San Francisco Symphony, S&M2 (Blackened Recordings) at #2.
Fresh off delivering her baby this week, Perry’s new album, Smile (Capitol), is berthed at #3.The Avett Brothers’ The Third Gleam (Loma Vista) sits at #4, Seether’s Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum (Fantasy) grabs the five slot, and the third album from Warner rock act PVRIS, Use Me, is #6.
Colter Wall’s third album, Western Swing & Waltzes and Other Punchy Songs (La Honda/Thirty Tigers) is #7, Terminal Velocity (RenSam) from Dream Theater guitarist John Petrucci is #8 and From Ashes to New’s Panic (Better Noise) is #9. Toni Braxton's Spell My Name (Island) rounds out the Top 10. Just outside the Top 10 are new releases from Lil Wayne, Gregory Porter, Kem, PJ Morton and The Lox.
Lil Wayne’s No Ceilings (CMYM) is #7 at Apple Music where YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s Top (Never Broke Again/Atlantic) has risen to #1 with just five of its tracks released. (Two of the tracks are in the Top10 at Apple Music songs). Quando Rondo’s Diary of a Lost Child, released Wednesday, is #6 on the streaming chart and Internet Money’s B4 Storm’ (Ten Thousand Projects) is #15.
At iTunes songs, where the popularity of BTS’ “Dynamite” shows no signs of waning, BLACKPINK & Selena Gomez’s “Ice Cream” (YG/Interscope) scoops up #2 and Chris Stapleton’s “Staring Over” (Mercury Nashville), released Thursday, is #10.
