RIP, DAN PARISE

Dan Parise, a television and live event producer whose career included major benefit concerts and the most recent Super Bowl Halftime Show, died Monday of cardiac arrest. He was 61.

In a career of more than 30 years, he oversaw production of this year’s Super Bowl Halftime show with Jennifer Lopez and Shakira, Beyonce and Jay-Z’s On the Run tour, Global Citizen Festival events, Made In America Festival, The Roots Picnic and the iHeartRadio Festival.

As Live Nation’s Director of Production from 2006-2009, he created the company’s Special Events division that produced events such as the 25th Anniversary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame concerts, A Concert for Hurricane Katrina Relief, 12-12-12: A Concert for Sandy Relief and The Concert for New York City. The special events division evolved into his own company, Diversified Production Services, a joint venture with Roc Nation that most recently produced Meek Mill’s Motivation Tour, iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour and Michelle Obama’s Becoming Tour.

Parise served as director of production at Clear Channel Entertainment before it was renamed Live Nation in 2005, and at SFX Entertainment prior to that.

A statement from Roc Nation, which announced his death, said “He committed his life to his family at home and his family on the road, making each one of us better with each show. From working with Dave Matthews to Michelle Obama to Keith Richards, his mark on the entertainment and broadcast world will be felt for generations to come.”
