TAYLOR’S IMPROBABLE DAD-ROCK MOMENT

When Taylor Swift surprise-released folklore on 7/24 amid the pandemic, she probably wasn’t expecting the album to become an occasion for bonding between fathers (fans of Bon Iver, The National and Jack Antonoff—who produced Lana Del Rey’s Norman Fucking Rockwell) and their daughters (the Swiftys), who are sheltering at home together.

Messages from dads delightedly describing the experience of sharing the Taylor record with their daughters are all over social media, HITS President and Alternative-music luminary Karen Glauber tells us. Mark it up as yet another surreal occurrence in a year unlike any we've experienced—but in this case it's a happy one for a change.
