At a time when we’re all livin’ on a prayer, Hipgnosis Songs Fund Limited has acquired a music catalog from Richie Sambora.
Hipgnosis has acquired 100% of the Bon Jovi lead guitarist/co-writer’s publishing and writer’s share royalties of his 186-song catalog.
As a member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame band, Sambora released 12 albums, including Slippery When Wet, which contains “You Give Love a Bad Name” and “Livin’ on a Prayer.” Additionally, Sambora has released three solo albums and co-written four #1 pop singles and #1 country tracks for Jennifer Nettles and Leann Rimes, and contributed to two of Cher’s late ‘80s albums.
Hipgnosis Songs Founder Merck Mercuriadis adds, “In uncertain times such as this you are reminded of the power of great songs and great music and amongst the greatest set of songs of the last 35 years are the incomparable songs Richie Sambora co-wrote for Bon Jovi and other great artists.”
Sambora noted, “These songs are very important to me and I feel very strongly that Merck is the only person I could have entrusted my babies to.”
