SACKHEIM, LEWIS & YU
UPPED AT EPIC

Rick Sackheim has been promoted to Executive Vice President & General Manager at Epic Records, one of three promotions Sylvia Rhone announced today.

Ezekiel “Zeke” Lewis has been appointed Executive Vice President and Head Of A&R and Stephanie Yu has been upped to Executive Vice President and Head of Business & Legal Affairs.

Promo king Sackheim will also be responsible for overseeing the Epic Marketing, Publicity, and Video Production departments. Lewis takes on a newly created position wherein he will oversee the entire Epic Records A&R division. Yu will spearhead the new Brand Marketing and Sync Licensing Group initiatives in addition to overseeing the Business & Legal Affairs and A&R Administration divisions.

All three report to Rhone, Epic’s Chairwoman & CEO. Naturally, she had nice things to say about them.

“Rick’s reputation as one of the top record promotion execs in the industry is well-earned,” she said. “The decades that he spent learning every aspect of the game have paid off for Epic, where he has led the Promotion team to its most spectacular and historic achievements over the past two years.

“Zeke has proved himself a forceful and indispensable executive many times over at Epic. I have always admired his leadership skills, as well as his ability to find unique and forward-looking ways to break artists.

“Stephanie is widely respected throughout Epic and Sony Music for her all-encompassing knowledge, consummate professionalism, and mastery of the most intricate aspects of the Business & Legal Affairs sector, which she has successfully navigated for more than a decade. Her experience working with the industry’s biggest artists and their representatives suitably positions her to oversee these new initiatives.”

Sackheim has been with Epic Records since 2018, joining after a 12-year run at Def Jam. Lewis, a Grammy-winning songwriter, has helped develop the careers of 21 Savage, Tyla Yahweh and Madison Beer in his two years at the label. Yu has spent the past decade at Epic Records, serving as Senior Vice President, Head of Business & Legal Affairs since 2015.

Sackheim really has an excuse now to not take Todd Hensley's phone calls.
