The Foo Fighters are turning back the clock and re-living their first tour on this spring’s Van Tour that will revisit the cities Dave Grohl’s band played 25 years ago on their first-ever outing.
It begins 4/12 at the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, the first of the 10 cities that Grohl, Nate Mendel and Pat Smear drove up to in a Dodge van in 1995. Those shows were in clubs; this go-round is arenas. Will they still travel in a van?
In addition to the concert, each night will open with an excerpt from Grohl’s new documentary What Drives Us. The film explores the physical and psychological toll of—what else?—touring in vans.
Presales begin today at noon.
