J.LO, SHAKIRA TO SUPER BOWL

Jennifer Lopez will co-headline the Super Bowl halftime extravaganza in Miami with RCA-inked, Roc Nation-managed Shakira, the former has trumpeted on the socials. Naturally the choice of Benny Medina-repped, Hitco-signed J.Lo (who’ll receive iHeartRadio’s Premio Corazón Latino Award in Miami on 11/2) is widely considered a perfect fit for the game’s locale. The music, film and TV star (Forbes’ most powerful celebrity of 2012) has racked up 80m global album sales over the course of her career. She most recently starred in the film Hustlers and previously returned to mainstream prominence as a judge on American Idol and World of Dance. Colombian award magnet Shakira has sold 75m albums worldwide; her last album, 2017's El Dorado (Sony Music Latin) topped the iTunes chart in 37 countries.

"Ever since I saw Diana Ross fly off into the sky at the Halftime Show, I dreamed of performing at the Super Bowl," reads a quote from Lopez. "And now it's made even more special not only because it's the NFL's 100th anniversary, but also because I am performing with a fellow Latina. I can't wait to show what us girls can do on the world's biggest stage."

"I'm so honored to be taking on one of the world's biggest stages in the company of a fellow female artist to represent Latinos and Latinas from the U.S. and all over the world—and to top it off, on my birthday!" added Shakira. "This is a true American dream and we are going to bring the show of a lifetime!"

Who else might join the festivities? Stay tuned.
