CAPALDI SCALES
THE TOWER

In addition to having a record-breaking #1 in the U.K., Lewis Capaldi is making strides in the U.S., thanks to Steve Barnett, Greg Marella and Team Capitol. “Someone You Loved” has moved into the Top 20 at Hot AC and is underway at Pop, Z100 coming aboard last week; SiriusXM's Hits1 has been a major driver in the stateside story, as has Pandora, where "Someone" is the fourth most-streamed track.

Syncs on American Idol, Riverdale, Grey’s Anatomy and other TV have primed the pump—and a much bigger TV look is rumored to be on the way. The song is trending Top 50 Spotify U.S. (it's earned 212m+ streams on the platform) and Top 30 Shazam (and #3 global).

The moving video for "Someone" has caused uncontrolled weeping among even the more stoic of our interns; gird your loins, buckos.

If the buzz on this project is reminiscent of another solo British male on the Tower roster, that’s no accident—Capaldi’s U.K. sales bow (see story linked below) is in the Sam Smith ballpark.

The BRIT Critics' Choice nominee and Vevo DSCVR Artist to Watch is set to unleash his pipes and Scottish wit on a nine-date U.S. tour kicking off in June, with larger venues starting in the fall. Speaking of the Capaldi wit, check out this teaser clip for his Malay-produced album, Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent (Vertigo Berlin/Capitol).
