U.K. MIDWEEKS: "RINGS" AROUND #1

Ariana Grande has shot straight to #1 on the U.K.’s Official Singles midweek update with “7 Rings” (Island) on 5.8m streams since Friday. Over on albums, there’s three new entries in the Top 5 from Thunder, Dodie and Twilight Sad.

Should Ariana hold on to her midweek lead, which is currently 24k combined chart sales, “7 Rings” will be her fourth chart-topper in Blighty.

Ava Max has moved down to #2 with “Sweet but Psycho” (Atlantic) and Sam Smith & Normani’s “Dancing With a Stranger” (Capitol) is up one place to #3.

Calvin Harris and Rag’n’Bone Man’s “Giant” (Columbia) is up three places to #4 with and “Nothing Breaks Like a Heart” (Columbia) from Miley Cyrus and Mark Ronson is down to #5.

Elsewhere, a new remix of “Gun Lean” from Russ f/Taze, LD, Digga D, Ms Banks & Lethal Bizzle (Virgin EMI) sees the track rocket to #10 from #34in today’s sales flash, while NSG’s self-released “Options” is up three to #11.

Mabel’s “Don’t Call Me Up” (Polydor) has debuted at #12, while Lewis Capaldi makes gains with “Someone You Loved” (Virgin EMI) rising 15 places to #14 so far this week.

It’s a busy week on the albums front, with Thunder set to claim Friday’s highest new entry with a reimagined collection of classic songs, Please Remain Seated (BMG), at #2. Just 14 combined sales behind is Dodie’s new EP, Human (Ministry of Sound).

The Greatest Showman (Atlantic) remains at #1 and George Ezra’s Staying at Tamara’s (Columbia)also stays put at #4.

Two more new releases start in the Top 10: It Won’t Be Like This All The Time (Rock Action) from The Twilight Sad at #5 and Assume Form (Polydor) by James Blake at #6.

Elsewhere, Maggie Rogers’ debut Heard It In A Past Life (Atlantic) starts at #11, and Future’s seventh collection, The WZRD (RCA), is set to become his third Top 20 album at #14.
