 QUEEN HONO(U)RS MUSIC ROYALTY

While her subjects inhaled sherry and mince pies, the Queen was busy compiling a list of extraordinary people in the U.K. for her New Year’s Honours list 2019. Her selections from the music world are United Talent Agency’s Neil Warnock, Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason, musician Nitin Sawhney and violinist Nicola Benedetti.

Warnock, Global Head of Touring at UTA, has been appointed a Member of the British Empire (MBE) for services to music across a career that has spanned over 50 years. Today, he reps Dolly Parton, Deep Purple, Mariah Carey, David Gilmour and breakout American band Badflower, while he's worked with Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, Johnny Cash, Simon & Garfunkel and Michael Jackson. He's also recognised for his charity work as a trustee and Chairman of Fundraising at Nordoff Robbins.

Mason, Benedetti and Sawhney join Warnock in the MBE list for services to music. Claire Turnham, who set up the Victim of Viagogo group which has helped recover nearly £1m in refunds from the secondary ticketing website, has also been awarded an MBE, alongside pop vocal coach David Grant, who had success as an artist in the ‘80s.

Those honored will meet Her Majesty for a presentation in Spring 2019.
