The success of the Freddie Mercury/Queen movie Bohemian Rhapsody has led to Brian May regrouping the band for a six-week tour next summer.
The Queen + Adam Lambert Rhapsody tour opens 7/10 at Vancouver, B.C.’s Rogers Arena and includes stops at The Forum in Los Angeles on 7/19 and Madison Square Garden on 8/6. It will wrap 8/23 at Spectrum Center in Charlotte, NC. (Trivia buffs will know The Forum was the last venue the original line-up played in North America, performing there 9/15/82.)
Produced by Live Nation, the 23-date arena tour will debut a brand new larger-than-life production for the Hollywood Records act.
“This is a great opportunity,” May said. “Our last tour featured our most ambitious production ever, and got us our best notices ever. So we decided to rip it apart and get even more ambitious.”
Pre-sales start Thursday; onstage to the general public starts Friday.
