U.K. CHARTS: BENNY TAKES BLIGHTY

Underdog Benny Blanco has leapfrogged from #3 to reach #1 on the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart with “Eastside” f/Halsey and DJ Khalid (Virgin EMI) shifting 50k combined sales during its seventh week on the chart. Over on albums, Interpol have the highest new entry at #6 while the reign of Mamma Mia! continues.

The sales of “Eastside” include 4.4m audio streams and 1.3m video streams. While this is Blanco's first #1 as a solo artist, as a co-writer or producer behind the scenes, he has scored 12 U.K. #1 singles with the likes of Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and Rihanna.

It was a tight race for the top spot with Calvin Harris and Sam Smith finishing just 139 combined sales behind with “Promises” (Columbia) at #2, while George Ezra slips to #3 with “Shotgun” (Columbia). Juice WRLD's steady-climbing "Lucid Dreams" (Polydor) enters the Top 10.

BTS have this week’s highest new singles entry with “Idol” (BigHit) at #21. High risers include dance DJs Dynoro & Gigi D'Agostino vaulting 21 places to #15 with club smash “In My Mind” (Ministry of Sound), while Marshmello & Bastille's “Happier” (Positiva) climbs 15 rungs to #16.

On the Official Albums chart, Mamma Mia—Here we go Again (Polydor) is #1 for a fifth week, followed by The Greatest Showman soundtrack (Atlantic) 2k combined sales behind at #2.

Ariana Grande has the most streamed album of the week with Sweetener (Island), which moves down to #3.

Interpol’s Marauder (Matador) is the band's highest charting effort in the U.K. for six years landing at #6, and claims this week's best-selling vinyl title.

The second highest new albums entry is Rainier Fog (BMG) by Alice In Chains at #9, and BTS enter at #14 with Answer (BigHit).
