Columbia artist Leon Bridges' appearance at the Newport Folk Festival over the weekend has generated some definite buzz. The soul revivalist appeared as part of bandleader Jon Batiste's star-studded "A Change Is Gonna Come" set devoted to songs about social change. Bridges joined Batiste and Gary Clark, Jr. for a powerful rendition of the Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young protest anthem "Ohio" as part of a lineup that Grammy.com dubbed "spectacular."
The Mick Management-repped Bridges (pictured at left with Batiste) joined Clark and Batiste last year for a recording of "Ohio," which you can check out below. Bridges' sophomore Columbia album, Good Thing, had its Top 5 debut in May.
In other news from Newport, some attendees there continue to be pissed about Dylan going electric.
