SOURCES: REPUBLIC INVESTIGATION COMPLETE

The investigation initiated by Republic in response to allegations of sexual harassment being leveled against Charlie Walk is complete, say insiders, who added that Collazo Florentino & Keil, the outside law firm conducting the probe, found no other incidents of harassment or misconduct that will cause the termination of any other Republic employees.

Republic and Walk, who has been on leave from his job as President since 2/1, “have mutually agreed to part ways,” according to a 3/28 statement from Republic. The appearance of said letter triggered widespread conjecture around the industry about the possibility that Republic and Walk had agreed on a monetary settlement, but sources would confirm neither the existence nor the amount of such a deal between the parties. Walk is believed to have had less than a year left on his most recent employment agreement, which was valued at just over $2 million per year including bonuses.

Tristan Coopersmith, the former Sony employee who was Walk’s initial public accuser, released this statement: “I applaud all the women who shared their truth and I am gratified that Universal created a safe process for them to do so. This behavior in the workplace will only stop when we band together, unafraid. TimesUp.”

In the wake of all this, Walk is back on the phones, taking meetings and pitching his new business to prospective clients. Stay tuned.
