REVENUE CHART: HAPPY “SAD!”

XXXtentacion’s “SAD!” has crashed Drake and Post Malone’s penthouse party, landing at #2 and knocking Post’s “Psycho” down a notch to #3. The single from the polarizing Florida rapper’s album ?, which debuted at #1 last week, is the biggest earner of the 11 XXX tracks that have landed in the Top 50 Song Revenue Chart for the week ending 3/22, with “Moonlight” next at #6.

The other upstart on the leaderboard is Lil Dicky, whose Chris Brown-featuring mini-musical comedy “Freaky Friday” debuts at #5. Will the track have staying power, or will it experience the standard week two drop-off? We’ll find out in a week.

Continuing a recent pattern, nearly all the Top 50 incumbents made less moolah than a week earlier. The three double-digit exceptions are the aforementioned “SAD!,” which doubled the previous week’s take; Rich the Kid’s “Plug Walk,” which climbed #22-11 behind a 22% increase; and the Migos-Drake collab “Walk It Talk It,” with +43%, though it has yet to crack the Top 20.

Also continuing a recent pattern, tracks from UMG labels control 70% of the Top 10 real estate, and two-thirds of the Top 50.

Marketshare scoreboard: UMG 67%, SME 15%, WMG 15%, Indies 2%
