WALK, REPUBLIC PART WAYS: REPORT

The Charlie Walk era at Republic has officially come to an end. The label and Walk, who was placed on indefinite leave from his job as President on 2/1 in the wake of seven separate allegations of sexual harassment, “have mutually agreed to part ways,” according to a statement from Republic obtained by Variety.

Republic retained an outside law firm to conduct an independent investigation shortly after the initial allegations surfaced, but when queried on 3/28 by reporters Shirley Halperin and Jem Aswad, a UMG rep declined to comment on the results of the investigation, or to elaborate beyond the written statement. A source at Republic told them that as of Monday, Walk’s office was as he had left it when he went on leave.

Walk, who has retained Patricia Glaser, the attorney representing Harvey Weinstein, to fight the accusations against him, has repeatedly denied the claims of his accusers.
