The Top 5 Highest-Grossing Films in America Over the Weekend

Disney's highly anticipated Star Wars: The Last Jedi debuted on top of the domestic box office with approximately $220m—more than the rest of the Top 35 films combined—marking the second largest opening weekend of all-time (behind only Star Wars: The Force Awakens).

Interestingly though, The Last Jedi is experiencing the largest audience-to-critic divide for films in the Star Wars franchise, according to RottenTomatoes, where audiences have given it a mediocre 56% and critics have applauded it with an impressive 93%.
